President Ho Chi Minh’s humanitarian thought highlighted in Bangladesh

Hanoi (VNA) – A workshop was held inBangladesh on September 24 to explore late President Ho Chi Minh’s humanitarianthought against imperialism.
 
The event, jointly held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Bangladesh and the NawabSalimullah Institute, brought together journalists, scholars and researchersfrom universities and institutes of Bangladesh, and businesspeople.

Dr. Mostafizur Rahman stressed the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minhto the world’s revolution for peace, national independence, democracy andsocial progress.

President Ho Chi Minh is one of the pioneer leaders in the anti-terrorismmovement in Asia and also one of the most influential leaders in the 20th century, he said.

The participants held that President Ho Chi Minh’s view that “nothing is moreprecious than independence and freedom” demonstrates a lofty humanitarianthought as it refers to independence and freedom of not only a single nationbut individuals and mankind.

His message has inspired Bangladeshi people during the struggle for nationalliberation as well as the present national construction, they said.

Addressing the workshop, Vietnamese Ambassador to Bangladesh Tran Van Khoa  said the workshop helps Bangladeshi friendsunderstand more about President Ho Chi Minh’s humanitarian thought, which is Vietnam’sinvaluable spiritual asset.

The Nawab Salimullah is a non-governmental organisation of Bangladeshestablished in 1987, aiming to strengthen solidarity and friendship betweenBangladeshi people and people from foreign countries through cooperationactivities in culture, tourism, trade and education.

Within the framework of cooperation between the Vietnamese Embassy and theinstitute, there will be a range of exchange activities to mark the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-Bangladesh diplomatic ties in 2018. -VNA
