President Truong Tan Sang welcomed newly-accredited ambassadors fromBangladesh, Greece and Saudi Arabia who presented the their credentialsto the Vietnamese State leader in Hanoi on December 29.
Receiving BangladeshiAmbassador Shahab Ullah, the President said the two countries have witnessedgrowing relations since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties40 years ago.
The President expressed his pleasureat the close bilateral coordination at international forums, saying hebelieves the two countries will continue to support each other formutual benefits. He suggested the two nations enhance high-leveldelegation exchanges and step up bilateral cooperation in potentialfields.
For his part, Ambassador Shahab Ullah said hewishes to share Bangladeshi experience in poverty alleviation, maternaland infant mortality reduction, climate change adaptation, trade andindustry.
Welcoming Greek Ambassador Nicolas Dekanelos, President Truong Tan Sang asked the two countries to expandbilateral cooperation in economics, trade, science and technology. Hedescribed the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the EuropeanUnions as an important document to accelerate the bilateral economicties.
The Greek diplomat pledged to do his utmost to promote the friendship and collaboration between the two countries.
While meeting with Saudi Arabian Ambassador Dakhil Al Johani,President Truong Tan Sang said Vietnam always welcomes foreigninvestors, including those from Saudi Arabia. The President said hehopes both nations will continue to support each other at internationalforums.
The Saudi Arabian Ambassador underlined thetwo countries’ potential for cooperation in oil and gas, and labour. Hesaid his country could recruit about 100,000 Vietnamese workers insteadof the current 15,000.
He also highlighted the needto step up bilateral negotiations for the signing of trade, economic,and investment deals, and revealed his ambition to increase two-waytrade to 5 billion USD from 2 billion USD during his tenure inVietnam.-VNA
