President chairs 14th meeting of judicial reform steering committee

Hanoi (VNA) – President Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired the 14th meeting of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform in Hanoi onDecember 18 to review its 2021 activities and launch tasks next year.
Phuc, who is also headof the committee, asked the Party Affairs Committee of the Ministry ofEducation and Training (MoET) to collect feedback at the event to continue perfecting its draft project on measures to improve law training quality, firstly focusingon the Hanoi Law University and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.
He asked forresolutely shutting down law training establishments that fail to meetrequirements. The MoET was urged to issue a set of criteria to improve thequality of training law bachelors, especially raising awareness of humanrights, protection of political regime, Party and legitimate rights of thepeople.
The Presidentrequested that the draft project must be completed in the first quarter nextyear, which must also be assessed by the Ministry of Justice to submit to competent authorities for approval.
𝔉 Apart from 11 programmes built by the Party Central Committee’s Commission forInternal Affairs and steering committee’s permanent agencies, Phuc asked forfocusing on important tasks such as pooling resources to build technicalinfrastructure at judicial organs and completing a draft strategy on buildingand perfecting a law-governed socialist State till 2030, with a vision to 2045./.

The Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform convened its 13th meeting on August 26 under the chair of Politburo member, President and head of the committee Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
The Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform held a meeting on September 8 to finalise a draft project entitled “Organisation and operation of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform”.
President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has emphasised the need to build an open and transparent court and judicial sector under the public supervision for the people and serve the people in the best way.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.
