Preparations for virtual national conference on general election discussed

The National Election Council (NEC) on January 19 held a meeting with relevant agencies to prepare for a virtual national conference to popularise the Politburo’s directive on the implementation of the upcoming general election.

Hanoi (VNA) – The National Election Council(NEC) on January 19 held a meeting with relevant agencies to prepare for a virtual national conference to popularise the Politburo’s directive on theimplementation of the upcoming general election.

According to General Secretary of the National Assembly (NA)and head of the NA Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc, the conference, which is slated for January 21, will listen toreports on the implementation of the Politburo’s Directive 45-CT/TW regardingthe leadership over the election of deputies to the 15th NA andPeople’s Councils at all levels in the 2021-2026 tenure, and relevantdocuments.

Phuc, who is also head of the NEC’s Office, assigned tasksto relevant agencies and units, asking them to work closely together to ensurethe success of the conference.

At the meeting, participants underlined that the conferenceis an important event held on the tಌhreshold of the 13th NationalParty Congress. They stressed the need for careful preparations for theconference as well as the ensuring of its safety and security./.
