A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 jolted 197 kilometres of north-northwest of Dili, Timor Leste at 21:55 on April 6 (local time), the US Geological Survey said.

Jakarta (VNA) – A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 jolted197 kilometres of north-northwest of Dili, Timor Leste at 21:55 on April 6(local time), the US Geological Survey said.
The epicenter had a depth of 538.48 kilometres.
At the same time, a 6.1-magnitude earthquake shook Nusa Tenggara province incentral Indonesia, with epicentre at 148 kilometres northeast of Alor city andthe depth at 573 kilometres under sea bed. There was no tsunami warning.
Amoderate 5.0-magnitude quake hit the Pacific Ocean off the Solomon Islands thesame day, but there were no immediate reports of damage and no tsunami warning.The quake occurred 27 kilometres off Kirakira in the Solomon Islands, and 225kilometres southeast of the capital Honiara, at a depth of about 73 kilometres,according to the US Geological Survey.-VNA
