Police forces of Vietnam, Cambodia record fruitful crime fight cooperation
The Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Cambodian Ministry of Interior reviewed the results of their 2022 cooperation plan and signed a new one for this year at a conference in Hanoi on March 4.

Hanoi (VNA) – The VietnameseMinistry of Public Security and the Cambodian Ministry of Interior reviewed theresults of their 2022 cooperation plan and signed a new one for this year at a conference inHanoi on March 4.
Vietnamese Minister of PublicSecurity Gen. To Lam and Cambodian Deputy PM and Minister of Interior SamdechKrolahom Sar Kheng co-chaired the event.
Looking back on cooperation resultslast year, the officials said the two sides maintained sharing informationabout the international and regional situations related to their countries’national security and social order and safety, supported each other atinternational and regional forums, and coordinated to guarantee security andsafety for important political events in each country, including the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and related summits in Cambodia.
Vietnam also actively put forthcoordination programmes and plans to crack down on crimes, especially in thetwo countries’ border provinces.
In 2022, despite certain difficultiescaused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the two ministries’ police forces boostedcooperation in crime prevention and control such as exchanging information and verifyingrequests related to criminals on international wanted lists via INTERPOL,ASEANAPOL, the diplomatic channel, specialised departments, and the police forcesin border provinces, thereby obtaining some significant results in crime fight.
Wrapping up the conference, theVietnamese and Cambodian officials signed the cooperation plan for 2023 betweentheir ministries./.
Minister of National Defence Gen. Phan Van Giang and visiting Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, Gen. Tea Banh, reviewed their ministries’ cooperation in 2022 and agreed on a cooperation plan for this year during talks in Hanoi on February 19.
The Vinh Xuong international land and waterway border gate, located on the borderline with Cambodia, was officially opened in Vinh Xuong commune of Tan Chau town, the Mekong Delta province of An Giang, on February 23.
The MB Cambodia Bank, Public limited Company (MB Cambodia) officially launched its services on February 27 as a commercial bank wholly invested by Vietnam’s Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB).
A ceremony was held in Chbar Mon city, Cambodia’s Kampong Speu province, on March 3 to mark the completion of upgrades to the Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Monument there.
