PM’s Czech Republic visit opens up new cooperation directions
Many opinions in the Czech Republic have shared the view that the agreements reached during Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s official visit to the European country from April 16-17 have opened up new directions for bilateral cooperation in the time ahead.

Prague (VNA) –Many opinions in the Czech Republic have shared the view that the agreementsreached during Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s official visit tothe European country from April 16-17 have opened up new directions forbilateral cooperation in the time ahead.
Chairman of the Communist Party of Bohemia andMoravia Vojtech Filip, who is also First Deputy Speaker of the Chamber ofDeputies, told the Vietnam News Agency that PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s trip to theCzech Republic was very successful.
At the talks and meetingsbetween the Vietnamese leader and PM Andrej Babis, Speaker of the Chamber ofDeputies Radek Vondracek and President Milos Zeman of the Czech Republic,the two sides reached consensus on many cooperation programmes in the timeahead.
He hailed the talks between the two PMs thatalso discussed measures to remove obstacles in labour cooperation so as tocontinue granting visas for Vietnamese labourers to work in the Czech Republic,thereby helping to promote bilateral economic links.
Czech officials are set to pay a working visitto Vietnam in June to continue discussing orientations for realising theagreements reached by the two PMs, he noted.
Filip said as Chairman of the Communist Party ofBohemia and Moravia and First Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, healways evaluates and supports the important role of Vietnamese people inserving as a bridge linking the two countries. He also pledged more assistancefor the community to better integrate into local society.
Meanwhile, Vaclav Rehor, Chairman of the Boardof Directors of Vaclav Havel Prague Airport, described the Vietnam-CzechRepublic business forum that was held during the visit as successful as manycooperation deals were inked.
Among them, the Vaclav Havel Prague Airport andBamboo Airways of Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding on the openingof a direct air route between the two countries in late 2019. This is apotential agreement as it is estimated that there will be about 70,000passengers flying on the route each year, he added.
Jakub Musil, a reporter of the Czech Television,said that in an interview following the business forum on April 17, PM AndrejBabis affirmed that he strongly supports the early launching of a direct airroute between the two countries so as to help facilitate bilateral partnershipsin not only trade but also tourism.
Musil also noted the Vietnamese community is oneof the biggest communities of foreigners in the Czech Republic, and the visitby the Vietnamese PM would intensify cooperative ties between the two nations.-VNA

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited Sapa Trade Centre and met with overseas Vietnamese in Prague on April 17 (local time) as part of his official visit to the Czech Republic.
The official visit to the Czech Republic by Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc from April 16-17 grabbed the headlines in the Central European country’s TV and radio channels and newspapers, which affirmed that the visit would create a new motivation for bilateral cooperation.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
