PM: Vietnam attaches importance to ties with Czech Republic

Vietnam always attaches importance to developing ties with traditional friends in the central Eastern Europe, with the Czech Republic as a priority partner, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc told Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Vojtech Filip during a reception in Hanoi on June 5.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam always attaches importance to developingties with traditional friends in the central Eastern Europe, with the CzechRepublic as a priority partner, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc told ViceChairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic VojtechFilip during a reception in Hanoi on June 5.

PM Phuc lauded the guest’s proposal to boost ties in aviationtechnology, pilot training, use of lightweight cargo aircraft and technologicaltransfer, saying they are a new space of cooperation needed to study and carryout in the coming time. He pledged to direct units concerned to offer easiervisa procedures to Czech citizens.

He asked for further efforts to extend bilateraleconomic-trade-investment ties, especially in fields suggested by the guest.

Vietnam will create favourable conditions for cooperationprojects with the Czech Republic, he said, highlighting the cooperation potentialin aviation with countries worldwide, including the Czech Republic, as Vietnam seesthe increasing number of airlines.

The leader said Vietnam hails partnership with the CzechRepublic in auto manufacturing which is in high demand in the country.

Welcoming the outcomes of the sixth Vietnam – Czech RepublicInter-Governmental Committee meeting on economic cooperation, the PM said theVietnamese government will work closely with the Czech government to launchcooperation agreements, contributing to carrying forward bilateral relations infields of Vietnam’s demand and the Czech Republic’s strengths such as energy,mining, infrastructure, environment protection, and food safety.

He asked the Czech Republic to support Vietnam’s run fornon-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021tenure, adding that Vietnam wants the Czech Republic to continue promotingVietnam – EU comprehensive cooperative partnership and the signing of theEU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

Vietnam is ready to help the Czech Republic reinforce tieswith ASEAN and its member states, he said.

As the Czech Republic is lacking workforce, the PM proposedthat it would simplify visa procedures for Vietnamese citizens coming for thepurpose of tourism and labour.

The host heralded the sharing of experience in legislationand supervision between the Vietnamese and Czech legislatures, believing that bothsides will make important contributions to Vietnam – Czech Republic ties in thenear future.

Filip, who is also Chairman of the Communist Party of theCzech Republic-Moravia, said his visit aims to further bolster traditionalfriendship between the two nations. The European country always strives to offerfavourable visa policy to Vietnamese citizens wishing to come for leisure,study or work, he said.

According to him, the Czech Republic has established severalvocational training establishments to improve Vietnamese workers’ skills in thefields of mechanical engineering, automobile industry to supplement skilledworkforce in the country.

He said his country backs Vietnam’s run for non-permanentmember of the UN Security Council for the 2020-2021 tenure, adding that the Czechparliament expects early signing of the EVFTA.

The guest suggested that the Vietnamese government supportsthe launch of a direct flight between the two nations to boost bilateral tradeand cultural exchange as the Vietnamese community is the third largest foreignone and has become an inseparable part of the socio-economic and cultural lifein the Czech Republic.

He said the Czech Republic is stepping up a project onlabour export with the northern province of Quang Ninh and another onautomobile manufacturing with the hope of bring more cooperation opportunitiesto the two countries,-VNA
