Ninh Binh (VNA) – PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged the northern province of Ninh Binh to maketourism the driving force of the local economy, in order to turn the provinceinto a must-go destination of the country, during a working session with theprovincial authorities on April 7.
Towards this goal, the provinceshould develop its own brand, enhance connectivity with other provinces andcities and invest in human resources training and unique products, the PM said.
He required the province tocontinue to review and fine-tune the management of regional, sectoral, land,natural resources and urban development planning, paying attention to thepreservation and building of the Bai Dinh – Trang An relic site into awell-known spiritual and ecological tourist destination in Vietnam and theworld.
Apart from tourism, thegovernment leader also called attention to support industry and traditionalcraft village, particularly high-quality and safe agriculture.
Considering business developmentas a crucial task, the PM told the province to strive to have at least 10,000 firmsby 2020, doubling the current level.
Ninh Binh must closely partnerwith businesses and people, further improve its indexes on land and credit accessin order to be listed among the top localities in the country in the administrativereform ranking, he said.
Chairman of the provincialPeople’s Committee Dinh Van Dien reported to the Government leader that lastyear, the local economy enjoy good growth, contributing 7.2 trillion VND (315million USD) to the State budget. Tourism is a pillar of the province’seconomy, with the number of tourist arrivals reached 6.5 million in 2016.
During his trip to Ninh Binh, PMPhuc toured the Hyundai Thanh Cong auto company in Gia Vien industrial park,which is the second largest car assembling and making factory in the country.
At a working session with ThanhCong group, owner of the Hyundai Thanh Cong auto factory, the PM suggested thatthe group promote partnership with domestic and foreign investors to expandproduction. He also urged the group to invest in researching and manufacturingcar components and cooperate with research and training establishments to trainhigh-quality workforce in the field.
On policies for the domesticautomobile industry, he informed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade hasbeen assigned to set up a working group to collect feedback and recommendationsfrom domestic and foreign automobile firms, which will serve as reference forthe country to map out suitable development policies for the industry.
During the stay, PM Phuc alsovisited and presented gifts to heroic Vietnamese mother Tran Thi To and Partymember veteran Ha Van Cong.
