PM sends condolences over former Lao leader’s passing
The message was sent to Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, conveying of condolences on the passing of his father Khamtay Siphandone, former President of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former State President, and former Prime Minister of Lao.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on April 3 sent a message of condolences to his Lao counterpart Sonexay Siphandone on the passing of the latter's father Khamtay Siphandone, former President of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former State President, and former Prime Minister of Lꦚao, a day earlier.
The same day, Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son also extended condolences to Lao Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane and acting head of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Bounleua Phandanouvong./.
Together with Presidents Ho Chi Minh, Kaysone Phomvihane and Souphanouvong, President Khamtay Siphandone, and leaders of the two countries have laid a strong foundation and wholeheartedly nurtured the Laos-Vietnam special solidarity, making it an exemplary, faithful, and pure relationship that is rare in the world.
Comrade Khamtay Siphandone, former President of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee and former President of Laos Khamtay Siphandone, is a leader with a high patriotic spirit. He is one of the first leaders of the Lao revolution, working alongside other leaders to fight for the liberation of Laos from foreign imperialist rule and to protect and build the nation. He is one of the key leaders in fostering the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, the President, the Government, the National Assembly, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee on April 2 sent a message of condolences to their Lao counterparts over the passing of General Khamtay Siphandone, former President of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee, and former President of Laos.
The Party and State of Vietnam always attach great importance to and give top priority to the development of Vietnam–China relations. Vietnam is ready to work with the Chinese Party and State to further deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and promote the building of the Vietnam-China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.
Under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh and the CPV, President Cuong said, the press has been a steadfast force on the ideological and cultural front, rallying the masses to pursue national aspirations.
NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man stressed the need to accelerate the application of artificial intelligence and smart teaching equipment, innovate teaching and assessment methods, and further improve the quality of formal education.

The country is willing to participate in collective efforts to promote cooperation and mobilise resources to advance the current priority issues of developing countries, such as trade, investment, infrastructure connectivity, making the most of scientific and technological advances for development, and people-to-people exchanges, Hang said.
During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
