PM presides meeting on government - trade union working relations

Hanoi (VNA) –Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 16 presided over🌟 a meeting on theworking relations between the government and the Vietnam General Confederation ofLabour in 2021 and orientations for the next year.
Confederation PresidentNguyen Dinh Khang said that in the first 9 months of this year, amid thecomplex development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the trade union has been goingalong with the government and firms in the pandemic fight and care for workersaffected by the pandemic. The confederation askedthe government and the PM to direct relevant ministries and sectors, localauthorities on a number of issues such as ensuring the interests and socialwelfares of the workers. The government’s officesaid the cabinet and the confederation have been collaborating well incontributing to achieving the goal of socio-economic development and protectionof legal and legitimate rights of the workers. The government, the PM, theministries and sectors, and local authorities have issued many policies ongoods supply, social welfare and job creation in support of the people andfirms affected by the pandemic. Participants discussedthe outcomes of the collaboration, orientations, tasks and measures to improvethe relations in the time to come. PM Chinh spoke highly ofthe active response by the trade unions and workers to the pandemic fight. Forthe time to come, he asked them to continue going along with the whole countryin the fight and economic recovery./.
Trade union organisations under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) have so far spent more than 1.22 trillion VND (53.38 million USD) from the VGCL's budget and raised donations to help over 1 million members, particularly workers, to overcome COVID-19-related difficulties.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) has proposed spending up to 89 trillion VND (3.91 billion USD) from the unemployment insurance fund to support labourers strongly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Government has issued a resolution on support for pandemic-hit workers and employers, and the aid will be sourced from the unemployment insurance fund.
Delegates at an international seminar in Hanoi on October 4 suggested solutions to improve skills for Vietnamese workforce to restore and develop the domestic labour market.

He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
The VNA delegation, led by General Director Vu Viet Trang, actively participated in the event, engaging in both professional and diplomatic activities.

In recent decades, Vietnam’s mainstream media has become a reliable and persuasive channel for showcasing the nation’s development policies and achievements, especially in economic matters, according to a senior assistant editor at the Times of India.
A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.
