Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc anda high-ranking delegation of Vietnam left Hanoi on October 11 morning for theASEAN Leaders’ Gathering on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund(IMF) – World Bank (WB) annual meetings in Bali, Indonesia, and a working visitto the country from October 11 to 12.

He is accompanied by Minister-Chairman of theGovernment Office Mai Tien Dung, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Le MinhHung, Deputy Foreign Minister and head of the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meetingof Vietnam Nguyen Quoc Dung, Deputy Minister of Finance Huynh Quang Hai, DeputyMinister of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Van Thang, and VietnameseAmbassador to Indonesia Pham Vinh Quang.

The participation in the ASEAN Leaders’Gathering on the sidelines of the IMF-WB annual meetings aims to show Vietnamas an active and responsible member of ASEAN and demonstrate the importancethat Vietnam attaches to the world’s biggest multilateral institutions and hostIndonesia, thereby helping to promote Vietnam’s stature in the region and theworld.

Meanwhile, the working visit to Indonesia is anillustration of Vietnam’s high regard for the archipelago nation’s role andstanding in the region and the world, as well as the wish to coordinate closelywith Indonesia and other countries in building a Southeast Asian region ofpeace, stability, unity, prosperous development and sustainabledevelopment.-VNA
