Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc heads the National Steering Com💫mittee on Terrorism Prevention and Control, according to a recent decision.

He will be aided by Minister of Public Security To Lam as the committee’s deputy head.
The committee’s members are Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh; Minister-Head of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung; Transport Minister Truong Quang Nghia; Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan; Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien; Finance Minister Dinh Tien Dung; Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Le Minh Hung; Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defence Minister Phan Van Giang; and Deputy Minister of Public Security Bui Van Nam, who is tasked a permanent member. The committee’s functions are to consult the Government and the Prime Minister on how to organise and direct anti-terrorism activities at the national scale, along on directing the settlement of terror incidents in case a state of emergency on national security and social safety and order is announced or there is a threat to national security and social safety and order.
Additionally, the committee is tasked to guide and supervise the implementation of counter-terrorism work of the steering committees at the municipal and provincial levels. The Ministry of Public Security is the permanent office of the committee.-VNA
