PM approves selection of goods suppliers for WEF ASEAN 2018

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has agreed in principle with the selection of goods suppliers in special cases, in accordance with the Bidding Law’s Article 26 on bidding packages for the provision of services and goods, to serve the domestic hosting of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN this year.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has agreed in principle withthe selection of goods suppliers in special cases, in accordance with theBidding Law’s Article 26 on bidding packages for the provision of services andgoods, to serve the domestic hosting of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN thisyear.

Accordingly, the Government’s Office; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, theMinistry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Vietnam Television; and the HanoiPeople’s Committee will be jointly responsible for selecting contractors inline with legal regulations and ensuring requirements related to quality,effectiveness, and cost.

In the course of implementation, attention should be paid to proposals of theMinistry of Planning and Investment in Official Dispatch No.5809/BKHDT-QLDT.

WEF ASEAN 2018, themed “ASEAN 4.0:Entrepreneurship and the Fourth Industrial Revolution”,  is one of the most important and prestigious forumsin the region, helping to share ideas and policies and promote dialogue andcooperation among governments, enterprises, and social organisations in andoutside the region towards addressing issues related to the Fourth Industrial Revolutionthat may affect ASEAN member countries.

The WEF ASEAN will take place from September 11-13 in Hanoi, featuring 60sessions and activities. –VNA
