Piano prodigy Luu Hong Quang to play with UK royal orchestra

Hanoi(VNA) – Vietnamese piano prodigy, Luu Hong Quang, will perform with the RoyalPhilharmonic Orchestra from the UK at the 2017 Toyota Classics Concert in Hanoi OperaHouse on November 4.
The concert,namely “Truly Classics”, will feature performances of famous pianist DavidJuritz and talented conductor Anthony Weeden, both of the UK.
Luu Hong Quang isexpected to enthrall the Hanoians with Mozart’s piano concerto No.9 and K721piece.
Quang, born in1990, won the excellent prize in the 7th International Chopin Piano Competitionin Asia in Tokyo, Japan when he was 16.
In2014, he was offered a full scholarship to pursue his postgraduate in pianoperformance at the Faculty of Music, University of Montreal, Canada.
Underthe guidance of his master pianist and teacher – Dang Thai Son, Quang attainedhis master degree in Montreal. Prior to that, he had the great honour of beingthe first Vietnamese of the young generations to perform together with DangThai Son in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in December 2013.
Quang iscurrently a principal study and ensemble lecturer at the Academy of Music &Performing Arts in Sydney, Australia.
All money earnedfrom the concert’s ticket sales will be donated to Toyota Scholarship for youngmusic talents in Vietnam.-VNA
Luu Hong Quang has won the first prize at the Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, with the Piano Concerto No.1 in B-flat minor, Op.23 composed by P. Tchaikovsky.
