Phu Tho police detain three in drug-smuggling case
Police in the northern midland province of Phu Tho have detained three men and seized 7kg of methamphetamine smuggled from the northwestern border province of Dien Bien.

PhuTho (VNA) – Police in the northern midland province of Phu Tho havedetained three men and seized 7kg of methamphetamine smuggled from the northwesternborder province of Dien Bien.
Themen are Lo Van Quan, 35; Lo Van Thuy, 39; and Vi Van Kinh, 42. They all are fromDien Bien province’s Dien Bien district.
Theywere caught while trafficking the meth, hidden in powdered milk cans, at acoach station in Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province, on March 15.
Themen confessed that they had been hired by a woman in Dien Bien to transport thedrug for 35 million VND (nearly 1,500 USD).
The Investigation Police Department for Drug-Related Criminals under the Ministry of Public Security said on March 28 that an urgent arrest warrant had been issued for the leader of a huge trans-national drug ring connecting with the seizure of 300kg of drugs recently.
