Hanoi (VNA) – The Philippines and China inked 14 cooperationagreements on November 15, with leaders of the two nations pledging to strengthen"positive momentum" in bilateral ties.
After meeting with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, Chinese Premier LiKeqiang affirmed that Chinese-Philippine relations have improved.
The two leaders witnessed the signing of 14 cooperation agreements oninfrastructure financing, bridge construction, bond issuance, drugrehabilitation, climate change, intellectual property protection and industrialcapacity cooperation.
Li said that Beijing will support Manila with nearly 23 million USD to repairwar-torn Marawi city which had experienced fierce fighting between governmentforces and militants linked to IS.
Duterte lauded Beijing’s significant role in backing Manila in the fightagainst terrorism.
Li is the first Chinese premier to pay an official visit to the Philippines ina decade. He went to Manila on November 11 to attend 31st ASEANSummit and related summits.-VNA
