The 12th meeting of the 11th Party Central Committee screened personnel preparations for the 12th Party Central Committee in Hanoi on October 8. Party officials heard the Political Bureau’s presentation on the outcomes of the nomination of candidates for the 12th Party Central Committee.
They also listened to the Political Bureau’s report on preparations of personnel for the Political Bureau, the Secretariat and key positions from the sixth National Party Congress to the time prior to the 12th National Party Congress. Proposals relating to personnel preparations from now to the 11 th Party Central Committee’s 14th meeting for the Central Committee, the Political Bureau, the Secretariat and key positions of the 12th tenure were tabled. After listening to these documents, presented by To Huy Rua, who is Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission, the Party officials discussed in group the personnel work of the 12 th Party Central Committee.
During the week-long meeting, participants will debate the 2015 socio-economic performance, the socio-economic development plans for 2016, personnel preparations for the 12th Party Central Committee, and elections of the 14 th NA and People’s Councils at all levels for 2016-2021. In the opening ceremony, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong stressed that the correct assessment of the national socio-economic situation from the beginning of this year until now and for the entire year will serve as a foundation to build and successfully carry out socio-economic development plans for 2016, targets for 2016-2020, and the 2010-2020 socio-economic development strategy. It is imperative to create a high consensus on key issues - which will decide the success of the elections of deputies for the 14th National Assembly and members of People’s Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 tenure, he said.-VNA
