The Party leader made the call at a meeting with newly-accredited Ambassador Herminio Lopez Diaz in Hanoi on January 13.
He said he hopes that the diplomat will contribute to consolidatingand further promoting the traditional friendship, solidarity, mutualtrust and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States andpeoples.
Despite geographical distance, Vietnam and Cubaalways support each other in their struggles for national independenceand development, Trong stressed, reiterating Vietnam’s consistent policyto back the Cuban people’s revolutionary cause and stand side by sidewith them in the fight for noble objectives and ideals of socialism.
While congratulating Cuba on its achievements during the update of itssocio-economic development model, General Secretary Trong alsoexpressed his delight at the increases in the two countries’ solidarity,friendship and comprehensive cooperation.
