Party leader meets China friendship associations

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong met with representatives from the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the China-Vietnam Friendship Association and a number of former Chinese experts and diplomats, who worked in Vietnam, in Beijing on April 8.

The Party leader, who is onan official visit to China, noted that Vietnam and China haveenjoyed a time-honoured friendship and comprehensive strategiccooperative partnership. Both are constructing independent, sovereignand socialist nations, he said.

He thanked Chinesefriends for their meaningful assistance to Vietnam during thecountry’s national construction, hailing the practical activities of theCPAFFC and the China-Vietnam Friendship Association to enhancediplomatic ties.

The Party chief also expressed hishope that the associations and Chinese friends would continue exertingefforts for the development of the bilateral ties.

CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin recalled memories of her visit toVietnam on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of bilateraldiplomatic ties.

She pledged that her associationwould continue working closely with the Vietnam Union for FriendshipOrganisations to further foster the China-Vietnam relations.

The CPAFFC will continue making contributions to promoting mutualunderstanding and cooperation between the two countries whilecoordinating with Vietnamese partners to organise activities to deepenthe friendship and partnership, she vowed.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of the China-Vietnam Friendship AssociationZhang Dewei said the association and Chinese fans of Vietnam will dotheir best to promote solidarity and friendship between the twopeoples.-VNA
