Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong hailed the Vietnam visit by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán as marking a new development step in the two countries’ relations while giving him a warm welcome in Hanoi on September 25.

Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong hailed theVietnam visit by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán as marking a newdevelopment step in the two countries’ relations while giving him a warmwelcome in Hanoi on September 25.
He took the occasionto thank the Hungarian people’s valuable and efficient assistance to Vietnam’sliberation cause and nation building, affirming that Vietnam always treasuresthe traditional friendship with Hungary as well as its current role andposition in Europe.
He hailed theEuropean country’s active support and practical cooperation with Vietnam inrecent years, especially in training personnel and helping the Vietnamesecommunity in Hungary.
The Party chief welcomed the outcomes to the talks between the two PMs andagreements reached during the visit, and showed his support for stepping up theties between the two governments and the ruling parties and acceleratingcooperation in fields of strengths and demand.
PM Viktor Orbán stated that Hungary treasures the traditional relations withVietnam and defines the country as an important partner with the longest termpotential in Southeast Asia.
He spoke highly of the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding oncooperation between the two ruling parties and expressed his hope forfurthering the ties with the Communist Party of Vietnam and heightening thebilateral relations in the coming time.
He said Hungary is determined to boost practical cooperation with Vietnam,especially in personnel training, water resources management, pharmaceuticals,and agriculture and the establishment of the Hungary Culture Centre in Vietnam,with a view to bolstering the friendship between the two peoples.-VNA
Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán Viktor’s official visit to Vietnam from September 24-26 offers an opportunity for both sides to discuss measures to boost bilateral cooperation in various fields, as well as regional and international issues of shared concern.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and his spouse began their three-day official visit to Vietnam on September 24 at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
In the past, Hungary organized many activities to suport Vietnam under the movement called “Vietnam, we are always beside you”. The two countries’ relations have grown strongly today.
PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that Vietnam always treasures developing ties with traditional friends in the Central and Eastern Europe, including Hungary as a priority partner.
Stronger efforts and determination are required to achieve and surpass the set targets, especially in the eradication of makeshift and dilapidated houses nationwide, the acceleration of public investment disbursement, and the implementation of nationally important transport projects, PM Pham Minh Chinh noted.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State place great importance on further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia in a substantive and effective manner, in line with the development needs of both nations.
At the conference, participants reported that the Government has so far issued 28 decrees on the delegation of responsibilities and powers between the central Government and two-tier local administrations. Several localities have already piloted the new governance model.

In particular, in April 2023, the two sides successfully carried out a joint operation that dismantled a major organised, transnational drug trafficking ring involving both Vietnamese and Cambodian suspects.
