Hanoi (VNA) – General Secretary of the Communist Party of VietnamNguyen Phu Trong hosted a reception in Hanoi on March 23 for President MoonJae-in of the Republic of Korea, during which the host highlighted the significanceof Moon's current visit to Vietnam.

The Party chief expressed his belief that the visit will contributeto deepen the cooperative ties between the two countries, while highly valuing thedevelopment of Vietnam-RoK cooperation in various fields, especially economic tradeand investment affiliation.

Vietnam always attaches importance to the relations with the RoK, he said,suggesting the two governments continue taking measures to boost cooperation inareas, creating a firm political, economic and social foundation and further deepeningthe Vietnam-RoK strategic cooperative partnership.

President Moon, for his part, attributed the bilateral relations’ strongdevelopment over the past 25 years to common efforts of the two countries’leaders and peoples.

The president affirmed the Rok will exert more efforts to join hands withVietnam to foster the two countries’ future relations, bringing practical benefitsfor both peoples for peace, security, stability, development and prosperity inthe region and the world.

The RoK treasures the relations with Vietnam and considers the country an importantpartner in Southeast Asia, he said.

He hoped the two countries would continue closely work together to deepen thebilateral ties and soon elevate the relationship to a new height in the time tocome.
