Beijing (VNA) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has hailed the contributions thatthe Vietnamese Embassy in China has made to foster the Vietnam-China ties overthe past years and effective implementation of agreements between the twonations.

At the meeting with theembassy staff and overseas Vietnamese in China on January 14, the Party leader briefedthe participants on the outcomes of his meetings with Chinese officials duringthe current visit to China.

He said that the twosides have discussed numerous issues to promote the bilateral relationship inan open and straightforward manner, and signed 15 cooperation documents in manyfields.

The Party chiefexpressed his hope that overseas Vietnamese people in China will strictly abideby the host country’s law while preserving their national cultural identity andplaying the role as a bridge to strengthen the friendship and cooperationbetween Vietnam and China.

Later in the day, PartyGeneral Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong left for a tour of Zhejiang province.-VNA
