
Hanoi (VNA) – Party GeneralSecretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong chaired a meeting of key officials inHanoi on May 14.
Participants at the meeting weremembers of the Politburo: Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, National Assembly ChairwomanNguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Standing member of the Party Central Committee SecretariatTran Quoc Vuong, and Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of theParty Central Committee Office Nguyen Van Nen.
The meeting heard and discussed areport on the situation and work performance in April and recommendations onissues needing attention in the time ahead by the four offices of the PartyCentral Committee, NA, the President and the Government.
Concluding the meeting, Partyleader and President Nguyen Phu Trong said with many major anniversaries andbig events in April and the first half of May, the key officials, members of thePolitburo, the Party Central Committee Secretariat and leaders of the NA andthe Government have closely followed the working plan and reality to giveinstructions to relevant agencies, organisations and localities in implementingset tasks.
He said arising issues have beenhandled in an efficient and timely manner, thus ensuring the smooth operationof the Party, the State, as well as activities across economic, social,cultural fields along with security-defence, external relations, Party buildingand anti-corruption work.
The key officials at the meetingreached high consensus on the key tasks in May and the time ahead. In theimmediate future, priority should be given to organising the 10th plenumof the 12th Party Central Committee and meetings of the Politburoand the Party Central Committee Secretariat; ensuring the pace and quality ofthe compilation of documents to be submitted to the 13th National PartyCongress as well as preparations for all-level Party congresses towards the 13th National Congress; while continuing to prepare for the 7th session ofthe 14th National Assembly.
The Party leader and Presidentstressed that the officials should closely monitor the implementation of setprogrammes and plans, adding that the organisation of all-level Partycongresses should not interfere with regular tasks in socio-economicdevelopment, security-defence, external relations and Party building. Heinstructed that the fight against corruption and negative phenomena must becontinued with resolve and persistence while upholding the spirit of solidarityand unity at all-level administrations and in all sectors, and winning public consensus.
The Party chief required theParty Central Committee Office to coordinate with relevant agencies inarranging the working schedules of key Party and State officials, thus ensuringthe smooth and efficient operation of the Party and the State apparatus.-VNA
