Party Central Committee elects two new members to Secretariat

Hanoi (VNA)– The Party Central Committee (PCC) elected two additional members to the PCCSecretariat on October 6, the third working day of the PCC’s sixth plenary meetingin Hanoi.

The new PCCSecretariat members are Pham Dinh Trac, head of the PCC’s Commission forInternal Affairs and Vice Chairman of the Central Steering Committee forAnti-Corruption, and Nguyen Xuan Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh NationalAcademy of Politics and Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council.

The Party CentralCommittee also discussed the Politburo’s proposal on disciplinary measures on NguyenXuan Anh, PCC member and Secretary of the Party Committee of the central cityof Da Nang.

The Party CentralCommittee agreed that as the leader of the city’s Party Committee, Nguyen XuanAnh bears the main responsibility for violations and mistakes of the municipalParty Committee’s Standing Board.

Anh himself brokeorganizational and operation rules on the Party, violated the regulations onthings Party members are not allowed to do, and the rule on Party members’responsibility in setting good example. He also failed to meet criteria for amember of Party Committee.

Anh’s wrongdoings andmistakes are serious, putting negative impacts on the prestige of the Party organizationand himself, and causing discontent among Party members and people, the PartyCentral Committee concluded.

The Party CentralCommittee decided to dismiss Anh from the positions of Secretary of the Da Nangmunicipal Party Committee, member of the municipal Party’s Standing Board and themunicipal Party Committee for the 2015-2020 tenure. He was also removed fromthe 12th Party Central Committee.

In the afternoon, theParty Central Committee discussed the projects on improving public healthprotection and care and on population affairs.-VNA
