Vietnamese shooter Trinh Thu Vinh ranked fourth at the women’s 10-metre air pistol finale on July 28, missing out on winning a medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic event.
Paris (VNA) – Vietnamese shooter Trinh Thu Vinh ranked fourth at the women’s 10-metre air pistol finale on July 28, missing out on winning a medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic event.
Vinh scored 198.6 points after seven shooting series.
Smashing the Olympic record with 243.2 points, Oh Ye-jin from the Republic of Korea bagged the gold medal. Her compatriot Kim Ye-ji won silver, and Bhaker Manu from India took the bronze.
Earlier, Vinh punched a ticket to the fi✅nale by scoring 578 points after six ten-shot series, ranking 4th inꦚ the qualification round.

Meanwhile, rower Pham Thi Hue won a place to the women’s single sculls semifinals on July 28 as she came second at the repechage event, finishing the race after 8:00.97 after Joanie Delgado from the Philippines with the result of 7:55.00.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism officially announced the Vietnam Olympics Team which will compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics later this month.
The Vietnamese sports team heading to the Paris Olympics 2024 received a send-off ceremony in Hanoi on July 17, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The Vietnamese team will gather on June 26 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where they will train until July 14 before departing for Indonesia for the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025, which runs from July 15 to 29. Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22 in the group stage.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
Vietnam continues to sit just behind continental powerhouses Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, China, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
