Over 9.6 million rural workers provided with vocational training
More than 9.6 million rural workers have been supported to join vocational training courses over the past decade, as part of a project under the Prime Minister’s Decision 1956/QD-TTg issued in November 2009.
Hanoi (VNA) – More than 9.6 million rural workers have been supported tojoin vocational training courses over the past decade, as part of a projectunder the Prime Minister’s Decision 1956/QD-TTg issued in November 2009.
Accordingto the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, of the total trained workers,65 percent chose non-agricultural occupations, while 35 percent learned toconduct more professional agricultural production techniques.
After thecourses, more than 80 percent of them secured new jobs or earned better incomesfrom farming.
In the2021 – 2025 period, the ministry proposed localities and vocational training establishmentsto carry out training courses in line with new-style rural building and digitaltransformation progress.
Prioritiesshould be given to rural workers who lost their jobs due to natural disastersor diseases and to those with disabilities, it said./.
As many as 5,800 rural labourers in the southern province of Dong Nai will receive vocational training in 2015, said Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tri.
