Over 6 trillion VND to upgrade airport infrastructure

The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has plans to carry out six infrastructure projects with total investment of 6.05 trillion VND (266.2 million USD) in 2017.

Hanoi (VNA)
- The AirportsCorporation of Vietnam (ACV) has plan​s to carry out six infrastructureprojects with total investment of 6.05 trillion VND (266.2 million USD) in 2017.

Of the sum, 2 trillion VND (88 million USD)have been earmarked for the second phase of expansion of the Tan Son Nhat airport’sinternational terminal.

Another 2 trillion VND will be used toexpand terminals and apron of the airport in the southern resort island of PhuQuoc, so that it can serve 5 million passengers per year, meeting the demand ofthe increasing flow of tourists to the Pearl Island.

Meanwhile, the Noi Bai international airportin Hanoi is set to receive 1.2 trillion VND (52.8 million USD) for upgrading.

This year, the ACV aims to welcome 27million international and 64 million domestic arrivals, while total cargothroughput is expected to reach 1.18 million tones.

It also targets to increase the totalflights for 2017 by 11 percent from last year to 617,000.-VNA
