Hanoi (VNA) – 🔯More than 5,000 soldiers from 32 countries took part in a naval exercise which began in Indonesia’s Padang port city, West Sumatra province, on April 12.

The five-day Komodo naval exercise is taking place under the theme of “Maritime Partnership for Stability in the Western Pacific Region”, according to Japan’s Kyodo News.
As many as 20 warships from 15 countries, including Japan and China, will also participate in an international fleet review.
In his opening remarks, Indonesian President Joko Widodo stressed that the strength of naval forces could help handle the consequences of disasters. He expressed his wish that the exercise would also boost cooperation among navies of countries worldwide .-VNA
