More than 170 Vietnamese and foreign enterprises are expected to takepart in the 2014 Vietnam Fisheries International Exhibition (Vietfish2014), the most prestige of its kind in Vietnam, in Ho Chi Minh City onAugust 6-8.
This year, more than 300 booths will beinstalled on an area of 10,000 square metres at the Saigon Exhibitionand Convention Centre, showcasing various products from Vietnam as wellas the country’s leading partners including Japan, Thailand, Singapore,Indonesia and European countries.
There is an exclusive large space featuring Vietnamese products, aiming to boost the domestic market.
Held for the first time in 1998 by the Vietnam Seafood Exporters andProducers (VASEP), the annual event has created a playing ground forenterprises in the fisheries sector to boost their connectivity and seekpartners, contributing to strengthening the trademarks of Vietnameseseafood in the global market.
From this year on,Vietfish will be held in August instead of June – a time when a numberof big global exhibitions are often organised, including those in theUS, Belgium and Japan. The change will enable local enterprises to setout a comfortable timetable for joining these events.
A number of activities will also be held within the framework ofVietfish 2014, including a conference with the participation ofspecialists from many organisations, including those from the GlobalGood Agriculture Practice (GlobalGAP), the Global Aquaculture Alliance(GAA), the World Wild Fund (WFF) and the VASEP.-VNA
