Vietnamese businesses should continue to invest in deep processing to effectively penetrate Asian and African markets amid the rising trend to use deeply processed products in these outlets, the Asia-Africa Market Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has said.

The future of the Vietnamese retail sector was extensively discussed at a seminar held in Hanoi on May 18, in the context of serial acquisitions by foreign retailers.

An additional of 38 outlets to the Ho Chi Minh City’s safe food chain were announced by the city’s Department of Industry and Trade on December 23.
