Sydney (VNA) – The oldest fire station in New South Wales,Australia, will be turned into a “Vietnam House”, its new owner ꦿhas sai🀅d.
Andy Hoang, a Vietnamese expatriate in New South Wales who has bought theStanmore fire station, said the building will be turned into a hotel andrestaurant complex which will serve as a “Vietnam House” to connect Vietnamesebusinesses and Australian firms owned by Vietnamese. The house will also help to promote Vietnam’s images in Australia, Hoangadded. Hoang is currently Director of Australia Asia Business ConsultingCompany (AABC), which provides consulting and promotion services to Vietnameseand Australian businesses. He is also the Co-Founder and President ofVietnamese Business Support Club (VBSC Incorporated). Built in 1886, Stanmore is one of the two oldest fire stations in NewSouth Wales. Covering an area of nearly 1,000 square metres with uniquearchitectural structure, it is home to various historical items of the state’sfirefighting force. After its closure in 1990, the fire station was listed as a historicalsite in Marickville area and turned into a private villa of an Australianentrepreneur. In March 2018, the building was offered for sale on Australia’s propertymarket at a price of dozens of millions of Australian dollars.-VNA
