A steel ship, which was designed to cope with oil spills at sea, wassuccessfully launched in the central coastal city of Da Nang on July 3.
Theship, manufactured by the Bao Duy Oil Spill Response and MarineService JSC in the city, is the first of its kind to be used inthe central region.
The two-engine ship was built at a cost ofover 5 billion VND (235,000 USD). It is equipped with air compressors,fire hydrants, a crane and an oil recovery machine.
Apart from handling oil spill problems, the ship can also serve as a rescue vehicle at sea.-VNA
