Northern border province suspends entry, exit at auxiliary gates
The High Command of the Border Guards of the northern border province of Lao Cai recently issued a document announcing the suspension of entry and exit at auxiliary gates on the border with China, in an effort to fight the acute respiratory disease caused by the nCoV.

Lao Cai (VNA) – The HighCommand of the Border Guards of the northern border province of Lao Cairecently issued a document announcing the suspension of entry and exit atauxiliary gates on the border with China, in an effort to fight the acuterespiratory disease caused by the nCoV.
The document said the commander of the forcedecided to suspend those activities at gates in the province’s Si Ma Cai, MuongKhuong and Bat Xat districts along the border with China’s Yunnan province fromJanuary 30.
Currently, entry and exit at the Lao CaiInternational Border Gate are proceeding as usual, except for the tourismactivities that were suspended from January 26.
In border areas, Lao Cai authorities arejoining hands with border guards in the communication work and health check.
From January 25-30, authorities at the Lao CaiInternational Border Gate detected 22 cases suspected of contracting the virus,including 10 foreigners.
According to Chairman of the Lao Cai People’sCommittee Dang Xuan Phong, local authorities are maintaining regular contactswith the Chinese side to improve the efficiency of the fight against thedisease. They have presented 20,000 medical masks to Yunnan province and areclosely supervising those Vietnamese who worked in China and came back toVietnam for the traditional lunar New Year./.
