Hanoi (VNA) – The ninth conference of theVietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee concluded in Hanoi on January9 after two days in session.
In his closing remarks, President of the VFF Central Committee Tran Thanh Man saidduring the conference, delegates looked into the coordination and action programmeof the committee for 2019, including seven important proposals with a high rateof consensus.
He urged the VFF at all levels and its member organisations to conduct furtherreforms in order to better perform their roles and tasks, especially inunderstanding the aspirations of people of all social strata, as well as socialsupervision and criticism.
Man also emphasised the need to improve the quality of VFF-launched campaignsand movements, alongside front personnel and particularly those holding keypositions, thus meeting requirements of the new period.
He asked the VFF and its member organisations to coordinate with all-levelauthorities to ensure a happy Tet (Lunar New Year) festival for social policybeneficiaries.
On this occasion, the VFF Central Committee presented certificates of merit toVFF chapters and member organisations, and individuals in recognition of theircontributions to front work. –VNA
Vietnamese expatriates in Australia raised opinions and expressed their aspirations while meeting with officials of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee in Sydney on December 7.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee’s Presidium convened its 15th conference in Vung Tau city, of the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on January 7, covering preparations for the upcoming ninth national congress of the VFF for the 2019-2024 period.

Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years. NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man stressed the need to accelerate the application of artificial intelligence and smart teaching equipment, innovate teaching and assessment methods, and further improve the quality of formal education.
He also pledged that the NA will promote its ongoing supervision, making sure that every promise must lead to results, and every commitment must bring about real changes.
Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien welcomed the proposals put forward by the US side and reiterated Vietnam’s request for consideration of key areas of interest, including reciprocal tariff policies and access for Vietnamese key export products to the US market.
Deputy PM Le Thanh Long proposed countries promote shared values, including building trust, sincerity, and solidarity among nations and peoples; fostering cooperation spirit and responsible behaviour as well as upholding international law and the UN Charter; and placing people at the centre and as the goal, the key player, and the driving force of all policies.
The show, together with a grand parade to be held silmutaneously at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, the National Day, and the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).
