Ninh Thuan improves nutrition among children, mothers

During a May 18-19 training course, held by the UN Children’s Fund in Vietnam and the National Institute of Nutrition, they also learnt how to improve nutrition for pregnant and lactating mothers.
Following the course, undernourished children aged from six to 59 months in the locality will receive medical check-ups.
Under the financial and technical support of the UN Children’s Fund in Vietnam , nutritious products have been transported to local health centres and will be provided for malnourished children and pregnant and nursing mothers.
According to the provincial Health Department, the drought has made thousands of pregnant and lactating mothers and children under five years old in Ninh Thuan face a shortage of nutritious foods.
Ninh Thuan is one of the 18 cities and localities nationwide worst affected by drought since 2015.-VNA
Authorities in central Ninh Thuan province are distributing 210 tonnes of rice and maize seeds to local farmers who were affected by severe drought this year.
