NIHBT receives ISBT Award for Developing Countries

Hanoi (VNA) 🔯- The National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) on September 5 received the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) Award for Developing Countries.
The award was presented at the 34th International Congress of the ISBT in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
“The award recognises medical results and efforts of the country’s blood transfusion sector and marks a new milestone of NIHBT’s development in the region and on the international level,” NIHBT Director Nguyen Anh Tri said.
“ISBT expects Vietnam to promote blood transfusion services through training courses, which will be organised in Vietnam early in 2017,” ISBT Excutitve Director Judith Chapman said.
NIHBT is the third medical facility to receive the award, following the Sri Lanka National Blood Transfusion Service in 2012 and the Myanmar National Blood Transfusion Centre in 2014.
The ISBT Award for Developing Countries aims to encourage efforts and progress in improving the quality of national blood transfusion services and to promote connections between developed and developing countries.
Established in 2012, the award is presented to a blood service or centre from a developing country that has made a significant contribution in strengthening blood transfusion practices within the country.-VNA
Health experts from eight Asian countries discussed ways to develop voluntary non-remunerated blood donation at a two-day international workshop that opened on November 9 in Hanoi.
The ninth “Xuan Hong” (Pink Spring) blood donation festival kicked off at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi on February 28 with the presence of Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan.

Thanh Hoa received nearly 1,500 units of blood from 3,000 donors on July 27-28 during an activity as part of the Red Journey, a transnational campaign to raise awareness of blood donation.
The event, the 12th of its kind jointly, was jointly organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Belgium and Chris Geyskens, Chairwoman of the Belgium chapter of the Hoi An – Vietnam Association for Victims of AO/Dioxin.

Today, the press for foreign service has evolved into a distinct, irreplaceable force, bridging Vietnam with the world and portraying a nation that is stable, peace-loving, and fully integrated into the international community.
At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
The VNA delegation, led by General Director Vu Viet Trang, actively participated in the event, engaging in both professional and diplomatic activities.
In the context where AI dominates and produces vast volumes of content, the only sustainable path forward for journalism is to focus on high-quality content and core values. Journalism must redefine its mission - not to report the fastest, but to provide the most profound and trustworthy value.
Granma and the VNA have great potential for cooperation, especially in sharing content regularly, so that VNA products are published on Granma platforms and vice versa, thereby helping Cuban and Vietnamese people access true information and gain a deep understanding of each other's country and people.
