Hanoi (VNA) – President Tran Dai Quang proposed Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister since April 2016, as the only candidate for the post of Prime Minister in the 2016-2021 tenure on July 26 morning during the first session of the 14th Nat𒅌ional Assembly.
The NA deputies then discussed the proposal in groups.
Earlier, the NA adopted a resolution on the organisational structure of the government with 93.52 percent of votes.
The new government will have 18 ministries and four ministerial-level agencies.
The ministries are: Ministry of National Defence, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Public Health.
The four ministerial-level agencies are: Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs, the State Bank of Vietnam, the Government Inspectorate, and the Government Office.-VNA
The 14th National Assembly Standing Committee submitted Tran Dai Quang as a candidate for the position of State President for the 2016-2020 term to the NA during the first session of the 14th NA.
