Eighteen year-old Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen from northern Nam Dinh province was crowned Miss Vietnam 2014.
Duyen, a freshman from Hanoi Foreign Trade University, won over other37 contestants across the nation during a finale held in Vinpearl Land,Phu Quoc Island, southern Kien Giang province on December 6.
The 1.73m tall beauty was also awarded with the title of Miss Beach.
Duyen pledged to actively take part in voluntary and charitable activities so as to deserve the title.
The first runner-up title went to Nguyen Tran Huyen My from capitalHanoi while the second runner-up is Nguyen Lam Diem Trang from southernVinh Long province.
Besides, the organisers alsoannounced La Thi Kieu Oanh as Miss Talent, Nguyen Thanh Tu as MissPerfect Skin, Nguyen Huynh Truc Mai as Miss Ao Dai (Vietnam traditionaldress), Nguyen Tran Huyen My as Miss Fashion, Nguyen Thi Ha as MissBeautiful Hair, Nguyen Lam Diem Trang as Miss Beautiful Face and Do ThiHue as Most Voted Miss.
Miss Vietnam, which was first held in 1988, is held every two years by Tien Phong (Vanguard) newspaper.

The programme featured a range of activities, including group practice sessions of the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), Vietnamese–Indian cultural performances, a commemorative flag handover ceremony for clubs, and a beach clean-up to help protect the marine environment.
This year’s tournament has gathered over 300 coaches, athletes, and referees from 18 countries and territories, competing in 28 combat weight categories and eight performance categories. Vietnam’s team has 50 athletes, including six from Thai Nguyen province.
