Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly deputies had a secret ballot to𝄹 elect the new NA Chairperson, Vice 💧Chairpersons and members of the NA Standing Committee off the 14th National Assembly at the second day of the legislature’s first session.
During the day, the deputies worked in groups to discuss the candidates for these posts.
NA Secretary General Nguyen Hanh Phuc read reports on the results of the group discussions on the proposed candidates for the NA Chairperson, Vice Chairpersons and NA Standing Committee members.
Meanwhile, NA Vice Chairwoman of the 13 th NA Tong Thi Phong read reports summing up opinions and recommendations collected from the deputies on the proposed candidates for the NA Chairperson, Vice Chairpersons and members of the NA Standing Committee.
The deputies discussed and approved the lists of candidates for the NA Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and members of the NA Standing Committee by an electronic voting system.
A voting committee was set up and NA deputies elected key NA leaders after that.
On July 22, the NA is scheduled to hear reports on the voting results, and approve a Resolution on the election of the NA Chairperson, Vice Chairpersons and NA Standing Committee members. The NA Chairperson will take an oath on the same day, which will be broadcast live.
The Chairperson of the NA Ethnic Council, heads of several NA committees, NA General Secretary and State Auditor General will be elected at the afternoon sitting./.
