New arts hub features Vietnamese artists’ work

A newly establishedarts hub called A. Farm in Ho Chi Minh City is showcasing works by artists withdiverse styles at its debut exhibition All Animals are Equal.

Nguyen Cat Nguyen, a graduate in interiorarchitecture from Lasalle College of the Arts in Singapore, is introducingkirigami, a variation of origami that includes cutting of paper.

The artist tells stories about life and herpassion about architecture.

Nguyen, who is self taught in pop-up andpaper art, has collaborated with artists in HCM City to explore a new way ofusing pop-ups to turn pages into an exhibition archive.

The event features the performance artist LapXuan of HCM City whose work comprises performance, installations, drawings andsculptures.

The artist approaches ordinary materialsand concepts to convey emotion from everyday objects and actions.

Xuan received a Master’s of Art in art anddesign from University of New South Wales in Australia, and Bachelor’s of Artfrom Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore.

She has exhibited and performed in Vietnamand abroad.

The exhibition will also feature Polaroidphotos on nature and people by photographer Long Long Long, and paintings from PhamTran Vietnam’s collection called Van Te Thap Loai Chung Sinh (Prayer for TenTypes of Wandering Souls) featuring faces of women and men expressing differentfeelings.

A. Farm is a hub for artists, culturalworkers, events and exhibitions collaboratively managed by the artsorganisations Nguyen Art Foundation, MoT and San Art.

The hub is at 96/1 Tan Thoi Nhat street inDistrict 12. The exhibition is open to the public until July 1.-VNA

Exhibition features Presidenﷺt Ho Chi Minh as found💦er of Vietnam’s revolutionary press

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
