NEC’s Personnel Sub-Committee holds third meeting

Hanoi (VNA) - TheNational Election Council (NEC)’s Personnel Sub-Committee convened its thirdmeeting in Hanoi on June 4, chaired by National Assembly Standing Vice Chairman TranThanh Man.

Man, who is also Standing ViceChairman of the NEC, said the elections of deputies to the 15th NAand all-level People’s Councils in the 2021-2026 tenure took place in ademocratic manner and in line with the leadership and direction of the Politburo and PartyCentral Committee’s Secretariat.

It can be said that theelections were a success, with the involvement of more than 69 million votersnationwide.

The Personnel Sub-Committee showed strong performance in implementing its tasks by providing direction,supervising, updating, and settling issues, providing advice on the handling ofrelevant matters, and cooperating closely with the NA Legal Committee andMinistry of Public Security in the work.

Despite the complex developments of theCOVID-19 pandemic and changes in personnel in charge of the election work in localities andsome emerging problems in the work, Man noted, the Personnel Sub-Committee gavetimely guidance to localities to settle issues, especially in pandemic-hitlocalities.

He asked the sub-committee tocontinue summarising election results and monitoring localities that will conductre-elections, while promptly dealing with arising matters.

Along with an accurate summary of electionresults, the sub-committee should make careful preparations for theannouncement of elected deputies in line with the timetable set by the NEC, he asked./.
