Navies of Vietnam, Indonesia strengthen friendship

Jakarta (VNA) – A delegation of the Vietnam Naval Academy led by its Deputy Director Colonel Nguyen Dinh Giang on July 18 paid a courtesy call on Governor of the Indonesian Naval Academy Rear Admiral Supardi as part of its visit to the country to exchange with the Indonesian Navy.
Welcoming the Vietnamese delegation of the Vietnam Naval Academy on sailing vessel 286-Le Quy Don to visit the Surabaya Naval Port and the Indonesian Naval Academy, Supardi emphasised that this activity affirmed the good interactions between the naval forces of the two countries in general and between young naval cadets in particular, thus helping to enhance mutual understanding, trust and defence and military relations between Indonesia and Vietnam.
On behalf of the delegation, Giang thanked the Governor and the academy's leaders for their warm welcome.
At the meeting, the two sides exchanged information on teaching and training activities of the two academies. After the meeting, Supardi invited the delegation to visit a centre for training management and supervision at the Indonesian Naval Academy.
Cadets from the two naval academies played a friendly volleyball match, which helped strengthen solidarity and understanding between the young naval soldiers of the two countries.
🍎 Earlier, in the afternoon of July 17, the delegation paid a courtesy call on the Surabaya city's authority in East Java province and the commander of the 2nd Fleet Command, Naval Base No.5 in Surabaya. Colonel Nguyen Tuan Duc, Vietnam's Defense Attaché in Indonesia, participated in the delegation's activities./.
The US Navy’s 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge and US Coast Guard Cutter Waesche arrived at Cam Ranh International Port on July 8, starting a five-day visit to the south-central province of Khanh Hoa.
The Indonesian Navy, Marine Corps Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion 1, and the US Marines on May 6 conducted parachuting training at the Indonesian Navy Air Base in Pondok Cabe.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
