Hanoi (VNA) -🌟 The 5th National Startup Summit (Vietnam Startup 2024) took place on December 8-12 with the theme "Artificial Intelligence Technology and Cross-Border Innovation." The event attracted thousands of delegates, including representatives from government agencies, businesses, experts, investors, and the domestic and international startup community.
Dr. Dinh Viet Hoa, Chairman of the National Startup Association said the forum is an effort by the association to connect stakeholders, share knowledge, and promote cooperation within the startup ecosystem. He emphasised the importance of improving education quality and integrating entrepreneurial and innovative elements into education.

The National Startup Summit serves as a "playground" for Vietnamese startups to showcase their AI-powered products and services, as well as cross-border e-commerce solutions. Across the country, many localities have identified entrepreneurship as a key driver of development. At the event, Phan Thai Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, introduced Quang Nam's achievements in building a startup ecosystem.
Notably, in 2024, Quang Nam was selected by the Ministry of Science and Technology as one of the 16 provinces/cities to be commended for building a Creative Startup Ecosystem.
Binh said with its mindset, aspirations, and ambitions, Quang Nam has proactively participated in the summit and exhibition to continue opening up opportunities and boosting the development of Quang Nam's startup ecosystem.
Kanat Tumysh, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Vietnam, shared Kazakhstan's experience in promoting innovation.
"Kazakhstan's innovation policy focuses on targeted funding for priority technology areas, including MedTech, AgriTech, GreenTech, artificial intelligence, Industry 4.0, GovTech, and MetallurgyTech. High-quality systems have been formed to develop these areas, including providing human resources, supporting infrastructure, as well as developing important innovation projects and other measures," said Tumysh.
Kazakhstan has launched the "Single Window of the National Innovation System" at the address "www.astanahub.com". This window operates as a national platform for posting technological/innovative tasks of businesses and ensuring the transparency of processes, including the entire cycle of the innovation process.
In addition, the Kazakhstani Government also implements State support measures for innovation, such as innovation funding, business incubation, technology transfer, and these have been strengthened in the 2023-2024 period.
The ambassador spoke of the positive innovation development in Kazakhstan. Specifically, key indicators are on upward trends, such as the rate of businesses actively innovating in 2024 is 15%, compared to 13% in 2023. The value of innovative products reached 6 billion USD in 2024, previously 5 billion USD in 2023.
