National programme on cultural development approved
The National Master Programme on Development of Vietnamese Culture in the 2023-2025 period has been approved under a decision recently signed by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.
Hanoi (VNA) – The National Master Programme onDevelopment of Vietnamese Culture in the 2023-2025 period has been approved under a decision recently signed by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.
The programme covers all localities nationwide and a numberof countries sharing long-standing cultural relations with Vietnam, focusing on the areas of cultural heritage, fundamental culture, performing arts, fine arts,photography and exhibitions, cinema, library, training, ethnic culture, culture for external relations, and cultural industry.
Major tasks and solutions put forth by the programme include completing the legaland policy system regarding culture; sustainably preserving and promoting nationalcultural values; improving the efficiency of cultural institutions; building ahealthy cultural environment and enhancing the spiritual life of people.
At the same time, the programme will also concentrate ondeveloping the contingent of artists and intellectuals, personnel training incultural area, promoting Vietnamese cultural and art products with high values,spreading the image of Vietnam, and its people and culture to theworld.

Specifically, the programme will restore and preserve two culturaland natural heritages recognised by UNESCO; 15 special national relic sitesthat are seriously degraded, while giving urgent support to the repair of about150 national relic sites.
National thematic museums and a national centre forartifact preservation will be established, while measures to step up the application of IT will also be implement to speed up digital transformation in protecting andpromoting values of cultural heritages.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is in charge ofcollecting data and reporting the progress of the programme, while summarisingand proposing solutions to tackle obstacles during the implementation of theprogramme.
Meanwhile, localities are assigned to ensuring capital andland areas for the construction of cultural works./.
A festival to honour and showcase Vietnam’s UNESCO-recognised intangible cultural heritages of humanity is underway in the northern province of Phu Tho from April 22 to 24, as part of the local 2023 Hung Kings Temple Festival and Culture and Tourism Week of Ancestral Land.
