On April 17,the flight, arranged between Vietnamese authorities, the Italian Embassy in Vietnamand ENI Company (Italy), took back to Italy a number of Italian citizens who hadbeen stranded in Vietnam due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The flightwas part of the Vietnamese Government’s efforts to help foreign diplomaticagencies in the country carry out citizen protection duties and support theinternational community in the fight against COVID-19.
It alsotransported medical masks as a gift from the Vietnamese Government and peopleto their Italian counterparts.
A number ofVietnamese students and citizens living in Italy’s regions hard hit by COVID-19came back on the return flight which landed at the Da Nang InternationalAirport in the central city of Da Nang on early April 18 morning.
Aftertouching down in Vietnam, all the passengers had their health checked and wereimmediately sent to concentrated quarantine areas in line with the country’sregulations.
VietnamAirlines strictly applied COVID-19 prevention and control measures during the courseof the flight to prevent the spread of the pandemic./.
