The association🐠 w🐻as founded on May 8, 2023 under adecision of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
In his speech, Lam said cybersecurity and theassociation must serve as a driving force for the national economy byaddressing challenges for the nation and businesses. It should also be a placeto honour products, services, and businesses that have made positivecontributions to this mission. Technology, talent and innovation in thefield of cybersecurity are even more crucial and decisive, he said, adding thatenhancing the protection of sovereignty, national interests and security in thenew situation is both trend and challenge of the era. The minister said the mission and vision ofthe association should not only generate economic profits, protectthe interests of its members, but also aim for a higher goal, which is tobecome the primary driving force of the cause of national construction and defence. It should strive to build and developVietnam's cybersecurity industry, establish a high-value cybersecurity marketon the international map, create corporations and companies with globally-recognisedcybersecurity capabilities. This transformation should shift the focus fromoutsourcing and agency work to becoming technology and product owners, he said. Vietnam’s cybersecurity situation has reported many successes in 2022, according to Tran Dang Khoa, Deputy Director of the Authority of Information Security under the Ministry of Information and Communications.
This year is likely to bring an increase in targeted APT attacks, especially those aimed at stealing data from databases developed during the vulnerable period as the country undertakes its digital transformation process.
