National Assembly enters last working day of ninth session

Hanoi (VNA) – The 14th National Assembly is scheduled to vote onmany important matters on June 19, the last working day of its ninth session.

Thedocuments to be put to voting in the morning comprise a resolution on some specificfinancial-banking mechanisms and policies for Hanoi; another on the reductionof corporate income tax in 2020 for businesses, cooperatives, publicnon-business units and other organizations; a resolution on the adjustment ofinvestment policy for the building of some eastern sections of the North-SouthExpressway for 2017-2020; and a resolution on the establishment of the NationalElection Council.

Thelegislators will also debate the draft Vietnam Border Guard Law. With sevenchapters and 34 articles, the issuance of the law is of special significance asit is expected to meet the requirements of the construction, management andsafeguarding of national border and border areas in the new situation.

Inthe afternoon, the NA is scheduled to vote on the draft law amending andsupplementing some articles of the Law on Organisation of the NationalAssembly, a resolution on piloting the urban administration model in thecentral city of Da Nang and some other specific mechanisms and policies.

Thevoting is followed by the closing session, which will be broadcast live on thenational television and radio channels and the NA television channel.

Duringthe closing session, the deputies will vote on resolutions on the nationaltarget programme on socio-economic development in ethnic minority-inhabited andmountainous areas for 2021-2030, and the thematic supervision of theimplementation of policies and laws on preventing and fighting child abuse, alongwith the resolution of the ninth meeting.
