Hanoi (VNA) – The 14th National Assembly (NA) elected heads of the legislature’s ke🍸y agencies on July 22 afternoon in the form of secret ballots.

Specifically, Ha Ngoc Chien, member of the 14th NA Standing Committee, was elected as Chairman of the Ethnic Council with 481 votes (97.37 percent). Nguyen Duc Hai, member of the 14th NA Standing Committee, was elected as Chairman of the Financial and Budget Committee with 480 votes (97.17 percent). Senior Lieutenant General Vo Trong Viet, member of the 14th NA Standing Committee, was elected as Chairman of the Security and National Defence Committee with 478 votes (96.76 percent). Phan Xuan Dung, member of the 14th NA Standing Committee, was elected as Chairman of the Science, Technology and Environment Committee with 477 votes (96.56 percent).
Phan Thanh Binh, member of the 14th NA Standing Committee, was elected as Chairman of the Culture, Education, Youth and Children Committee with 477 votes (96.56 percent). Nguyen Van Giau, member of the 14th NA Standing Committee, was elected as Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee with 469 votes (94.94 percent). Nguyen Khac Dinh, member of the 14th NA Standing Committee, was elected as Chairman of the Law Committee with 468 votes (94.74 percent). Nguyen Thuy Anh, member of the 14th NA Standing Committee, was elected as Chairwoman of the Social Affairs Committee with 459 votes (92.91 percent). Le Thi Nga, member of the 14th NA Standing Committee, was elected as Chairwoman of the Judicial Affairs Committee with 452 votes (91.50 percent).
Vu Hong Thanh, member of the 14th NA Standing Committee, was elected as Chairman of the Economic Affairs Committee with 376 votes (76.11 percent). Nguyen Hanh Phuc, member of the 14th NA Standing Committee, Secretary General of the 13th NA, and Chairman of the NA Office, was re-elected as Secretary General of the 14th NA with 465 votes (94.13 percent). Ho Duc Phoc, State Auditor General, was re-elected to continue holding this post for 2016-2021 tenure with 459 votes (92.91 percent). With 94.94 percent of the votes, the NA approved the Resolution on the election of the Chair of the Ethnic Council and heads of some NA committees. With 94.13 percent of the votes, the NA adopted the Resolution on the election of the Secretary General of the 14th legislature.
With 93.72 percent of the votes, the NA passed the Resolution on the election of the State Auditor General in the 2016-2021 tenure. On July 22 afternoon, the 14th NA Standing Committee convened its first session.-VNA
