Hanoi (VNA) — Ly Hoang Nam and partner Yuichi Ito were placed secondin the Singapore F3 Men’s Futures tennis tournament, which concluded on June 11.
The Vietnamese-Japanese pair, which was seeded No. 4, lost 6-7 (3), 2-6 to No.3 seeds Francis Casey Alcantara of the Philippines and Sem Verbeek of theNetherlands in the doubles’ final match.
Earlier, Nam was defeated 6-7 (4), 1-6 by No. 1 player Ramkumar Ramanathan ofIndia in the singles’ semi-finals.
Ramanathan went on to win the title after beating Nicholas Hu of the US 7-6(4), 6-2 in the final.
Nam and his teammate Trịnh Linh Giang will participate in the Thailand F2tournament from June 12 to June 18.
Nam is the No. 5 seed in the singles event and will play KittiphongWachiramanongwong of the hosts in the first match.
The No 3 seed pair of Ly Hoang Nam of Vietnam and Yu Cheng-yu of Chinese Taipei was ousted from the Singapore F2 Men’s Futures tennis tournament on May 30.

The Vietnamese team will gather on June 26 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where they will train until July 14 before departing for Indonesia for the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025, which runs from July 15 to 29. Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22 in the group stage.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
Vietnam continues to sit just behind continental powerhouses Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, China, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
